Distinctive Luxury

Woodside Estate

Woodside is known for its expansive estates, natural beauty, and contemporary architecture that harmonizes with the surrounding landscape. This luxury Woodside interior design project showcases our ability to create sophisticated interiors for large-scale Peninsula homes. After purchasing a charming 1920’s home on an idyllic property in Woodside, California, our clients called in Niche Interiors and Andrew Mann Architecture to reimagine the home for their growing family. Sited in the quintessential California landscape of meadow and oaks, this 1925 house was renovated and reimagined for contemporary living, with a new layout that better supports daily life for a family with young children. The dark living room was transformed with a new window wall that brings in ample natural light and provides a strong indoor-outdoor connection.

Our sophisticated clients were drawn to traditional details, global design influences and saturated color. Our Bay Area interior designers incorporated each of these elements in an intentional way, with the goal of creating a luxurious Woodside home that was distinctive, layered and that felt collected over time. Peacock lacquered walls in the foyer and celestial wallpaper in the powder room create depth and mood. An undulating ombre console creates a statement opposite the front door, with an oversized antique mirror above to bounce light off of the polished walls. A geometric silk rug adds softness to the space, alongside upholstered wingback chairs in a textural ivory fabric. We created two seating areas in the expansive living room with the formal dining area at the far end of the space. An oversized Moroccan-inspired rug grounds the center of the room, with high-backed sofas flanking the fireplace seating area. A bespoke tufted banquette and sculptural table host frequent family game nights. A cerused dining table is paired with tailored chairs with soft curves and delicate nailhead details on the opposite end of the room.

Dramatic gray built-ins provide a beautiful and functional backdrop in the family room design, with a petite reading nook and bar. A crisp, contemporary white kitchen is punctuated with brass accents and vintage mid-century dining chairs. Graphic wallpaper and an oversized chandelier make a statement in the vibrant playroom, while modern furniture mixes with traditional toile fabric in one of the kids bedrooms. Our Woodside interior designers opted for a bespoke bed to provide drama in the luxurious primary bedroom where textural fabrics mingle with a silk rug and moody walls to create an enveloping retreat. Patterned floor tiles make a statement in the primary bathroom, with soft gray cabinetry and white marble slabs in the shower.

This Woodside estate demonstrates our expertise in luxury Peninsula interior design, where scale, materiality, and connection to the outdoors are paramount. If you’re planning a Woodside, Portola Valley, or Atherton project, we’d love to discuss how we can bring your vision to life.

They really spoiled me. It was my first large-scale construction project, and working with the Niche Interiors team was relaxed yet professional. We all worked so well together.
