Vibrant Modern

Jackson Square

Our San Francisco clients purchased the condo down the hall from their main residence and enlisted the help of Niche Interiors to transform the dark, dated unit into a modern space for entertaining larger groups and for their growing kids to hang out with friends. Our team of San Francisco interior designers revamped the entire home with a focus on sustainable design, with FSC certified oak floors, zero-VOC paint, and custom furniture. The kitchen cabinets were upgraded with a fresh coat of paint and new hardware and the entire unit was painted in a bright crisp white which instantly improved the feel of the space. This family is not afraid of color or pattern, so we gave them ample doses of both!

The living room features a curved sofa by Holly Hunt and mid-century inspired armchairs upholstered in blue velvet. An acrylic coffee table with sculptural brass legs sits on top of a carved wool rug that mimics raked sand. A stunning abstract painting by Melissa Dickenson acts as the focal point of the room while sheer drapes filter light without making the room feel darker. Our design team transformed two niches in the dining area into a swanky bar with custom colored mirrors, glass shelves and modern built-ins below. The “hang out room” off the living room was designed as a space for the kids to play while the grownups mingle. A playful abstract rug brings color and energy to the space, with the artwork pulling in colors from the room. A custom modular sofa can be configured in multiple ways, for lounging, playing board games or making room for dance parties (actual client request!). The Niche Interiors team turned an outdated office on the lower level into a music room by adding colorful built-in storage for housing a record collection and board games. Brightly colored swivel chairs and a modern coffee table complete the room.

Our place has been transformed! In addition to their design expertise, they excel at project management and execution. They made the entire process super easy, transparent and efficient.
