We knew from the outset that this client doesn’t shy away from color or pattern! She asked for a bright, airy and playful design for her Wine Country retreat in Sonoma, California. Her love of blush, salmon, amethyst, and teal informed the color palette and interior design throughout the home, which is tempered by crisp white walls and ethereal wallpaper patterns throughout. We worked closely with our client to select finishes and fixtures for the home, opting for deep navy cabinets in the mostly white kitchen to add contrast. Black accents in the form of pendant lights and leather barstools add depth. Custom floating shelves are mounted above the workspace which has a textural blush grasscloth.
The Niche Interiors team worked closely with a local San Francisco art gallery to commission an oversized four piece painting by Canadian artist Karine Leger for the space, providing a dramatic backdrop for the seating area and utilizing the soaring wall space. A hand-knotted wool rug with an abstract pattern picks up the tones of the oak flooring, adding warmth and subtle interest. A delicate patterned wallpaper mixes with a custom designed console table and modern light fixture in the foyer.
Graphic wallpaper sets the tone in the primary bedroom, layered with patterned window treatments and contemporary furniture. A modern bed upholstered in a rose fabric lends a feminine energy to the space which is grounded with a luxurious silk rug. Our interior design team maximized sleeping accommodations in the kids bunk room with two sets of custom twin over full bunk beds. Designed by Niche Interiors and fabricated locally in San Francisco from FSC Certified wood, the bunk beds look up at a playful geometric wallpaper from Elworthy Studios on the ceiling. A loungey aqua sectional is paired with a patterned plum ottoman in the media room. Custom cabinetry was added under the TV to store board games, books and media components. The pool house features a kitchenette with custom oak cabinetry with concealed appliances and handmade blue tiles. The adjoining bathroom makes a statement with graphic, geometric tiles on the vanity wall, pink penny round flooring and contemporary brass plumbing fixtures.
