Interior Designer’s Top Wallpaper Picks

We recently had a San Francisco client tell us that he never considered using wallpaper before hiring us, as he assumed that all wallpaper was uncool and had Grandma vibes! Our interior design team was happy to introduce him to the world of contemporary wallpaper and to incorporate a few patterns into his home. There are so many wallpaper lines to choose from and our interior designers enjoy searching through showrooms to find the perfect patterns for our Bay Area design clients. But, you are more than welcome to skip the legwork and check out a few of our favorite contemporary wallpaper lines that we’ve recently incorporated into homes in San Francisco and Sonoma.

Elworthy Studio

Elworthy Studio Sedona Wallpaper in Sky

Kate Miller is the San Francisco designer behind Elworthy Studio, a boutique line of sustainable wallpapers and fabrics featuring a range of playful patterns. Each wallpaper and fabric design is manufactured using eco-friendly raw materials and processes. By utilizing an on-demand printing process, Elworthy Studio eliminates any potential waste as each fabric and wallpaper is made to order. Each of Elworthy Studio’s wallpapers are made and digitally printed in the United States using non-toxic water-based inks that are odorless and GreenGuard Gold certified for low emissions. Wallpapers are FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) certified, ensuring responsible use of forest resources by a third party. Their Sedona line was the perfect choice for this kids bedroom design in Sonoma, California. Wallpapering the ceiling was an unexpected way to add whimsy to this space that didn’t have much available wall area due to the bunk beds.

Holland & Sherry

Holland & Sherry Interiors traces its roots back to the esteemed textile house Holland & Sherry, which was founded in 1836 in London. Originally renowned for its fine woolen fabrics and impeccable tailoring, the company has since expanded its offerings to include a wide range of luxury interior products. Drawing inspiration from the rich heritage of textile craftsmanship, the company’s wallpapers are a testament to meticulous attention to detail and unparalleled quality. Each design is carefully crafted using the finest materials and showcases a refined aesthetic that seamlessly blends classic elegance with contemporary flair. With a commitment to timeless design and superior craftsmanship, Holland & Sherry Interiors offers a diverse range of wallpaper designs to suit a variety of interior styles. Their line of wallpaper, fabrics, and rugs are available to the trade at their San Francisco showroom.

Our San Francisco interior designers opted for the Trigols pattern for this luxe bedroom design in Hayes Valley. The trim and doors were painted black to add drama and to highlight the Victorian architecture. This graphic black and white Trigols pattern was the perfect way to add character and visual interest to the space. A kelly green upholstered bed pops against the graphic wallpaper, accented with warm rusty tones in the pillows and chair fabric.

FAYCE Textiles

Kim Rosen, the designer behind FAYCE Textiles, hails from a background as an Art Director and Illustrator. She uses her artistic skills to create intricate and delicate line work for her wallpaper designs. Our San Francisco interior design client selected the ‘Shadow’ design for his formal dining room, which is complimented by the charcoal grey trim and and molding throughout the space. Our designers created a modern, moody vibe for this client who wanted an artistic and sexy bachelor pad to entertain. This San Francisco home was featured in Interiors Magazine, be sure to check out the rest of the rooms!

Eskayel’s wallpaper designs are a celebration of the natural world, capturing the essence of landscapes, flora, and fauna in mesmerizing hues and intricate patterns. Whether adorning a serene bedroom retreat or infusing a living space with a touch of organic elegance, Eskayel wallpapers bring the outdoors in, creating a harmonious connection between interior spaces and the natural world. We appreciate the depth of this pattern combined with the watercolor effect which prevents it from feeling too bold or busy.
