It is hard to know where to start when reflecting on our absolutely OUTSTANDING experience in working with Jennifer and her team. First, I should say that my wife and I were quite apprehensive about hiring a designer. We tend to have fairly specific tastes and worried that we would we would end up paying someone but in the end, just doing the work ourselves. Then we met Jennifer. What was clear from the start is that Jennifer and her team were there to help us design our home in the way that WE wanted. There was a simple, straightforward, streamlined process to get a sense for our tastes, and after we completed this process, the degree to which Jennifer and her team got our aesthetic blew our minds.

While it was nice to have such high confidence in the design team so early in the process, where this really made a difference was in our meetings when choosing items for our house. Jennifer’s team presented us was a small handful of options for the various furnishings we were looking for and there were always 1-2 options that were PERFECT. This made the meetings both incredibly efficient and super exciting. Not only did the team choose items that perfectly fit within our aesthetic preferences, they also exposed us to new ideas and designs that we liked better than anything we would have ever chosen for ourselves. The designers all possess a perfect balance between deference and opinionated-ness and were able to gently coach us through our decision making process while always making sure we felt heard. And all along the way, the team was clear and transparent (and accurate!) about cost, availability, and timeline for all of the items we were interested in, which helped us plan and budget throughout the process.

After our decision making meetings were done, what was most impressive was Jennifer and her team’s continued involvement and responsiveness. Our projects consisted of a kitchen remodel, building a new bathroom, and furnishing several rooms (family room, media room, bedroom, dining room, and outdoor space) and as we waiting for our furniture and worked on the house, ideas and preferences changed. Anytime we had a question, we could call, write, or text and we would have a response usually within an hour, and always the same day. When we wanted something to change, Jennifer and her team thought creatively about how to make it work with a primary goal of us feeling great about the process and our decisions. And let me say, now that we have all of the furniture in our space, saying we feel great is a huge understatement.

We have never been happier in any space we have lived in, ever. And so much of that is thanks to the Niche team and the thought and care they put in to helping us design our space. I had no idea how much good design could help me feel at peace in my home, could help encourage our kids to play in new spaces and in new ways, and could motivate me to spend more time cooking in our re-designed kitchen. What Jennifer and her team did which I did not expect at the beginning of this process, was they genuinely improved our quality of life. It’s not just about how the space feels, but about how we live in it, and looking back, Jennifer and her team were thinking about this outcome the entire time. The team continues to stay responsive and involved while we add furnishings here and there, and to supervise the delivery of all of our furniture. It has been so pleasant to work with this team, that I am actively looking for other design projects to involve them in. I have worked with several professionals on various home projects over the years, and I can say that hands down, Jennifer and her team have been the most professional, reliable, and skilled group with whom I have ever worked. We thought we had a sense of what to expect from this process, but we really had no idea. This team of designers have helped bring joy and beauty to our lives that we are now experiencing every day. I cannot recommend them enough.
