Featured Projects
Editorial placements built around specific Niche Interiors-designed homes throughout San Francisco and Silicon Valley.

Architectural Digest — The primary bedroom in a modern Hillsborough home by Niche Interiors is featured in an article about how to make a bedroom feel expansive. (May 2026)
“A room with minimal contrast feels much more expansive since there are no stopping points for your eye to register between walls and ceilings,” Jones explains. For this reason, she worked with decorative artist Caroline Lizarraga to create a continuous hand-painted pattern for a seamless transition that still feels dramatic.

Luxe Magazine — Perch Perfect (2016) graces the cover of the Luxe Summer 2016 issue, featuring a ground-up collaboration with Lundberg Design and Andrea Cochran Landscape Architecture on the edge of San Francisco’s Telegraph Hill neighborhood. Mix Master (2017) – Bold hues, modern elements and classic detailing come together in an eclectic Noe Valley home.
When it came to furnishing the new spaces, designer Jennifer Jones took an equally artful approach. “The interior design is restrained because the views take center stage,” says Jones. “We incorporated new pieces with low-profile vintage and bespoke furniture with light, graceful silhouettes.” In the dining area, Jones designed a custom dining table to have a walnut top and rectangular Lucite legs. “The table appears to be floating,” says Jones, noting the shape is echoed in the glass pendants suspended overhead.

The Wall Street Journal — A Mantel for this Season – An interior designer’s guide to nailing a celebratory but refined display for the holidays. (Dec 2024) and Murphy Beds: The Old-School Space Saver Is Back in Style (Dec 2018)
Jennifer Jones of San Francisco’s Niche Interiors says saving even a few inches can make all the difference in a floor plan: “Murphy beds only take up 18-20″ of depth from a wall; a sofa bed is at least 36”. Ultimately, designers select a hide-a-bed because it can blend into a room’s architecture, said Ms. Jones, who designed a particularly discreet one into a filmmaker’s San Francisco home office. “We painted all the elements of the room the same moody blue, Benjamin Moore’s Black Pepper, and you would never know there’s a bed in there.”

Forbes — Inside a San Francisco Home with Iconic Views (2018)
On Russian Hill in San Francisco, Jennifer Tulley of Jennifer Tulley Architects converted a dated mid-century townhouse on Lombard Street into an open, spacious home that merges seamlessly with its environment. Selecting light woods and marble as her defining materials, Tulley also collaborated with another San Francisco-based creative, Jennifer Jones of Niche Interiors, who selected organic, minimalist furnishings that perfectly match the architecture of the space.

Interiors Magazine — Shaken, Not Stirred (2023) features a luxe, modern bachelor pad in Hayes Valley.
After over a decade and half in business, Jones and her team approach their work intuitively “it comes from the experience of making the hundreds and hundreds of decisions that go into creating these projects”, she says. It’s these minute subtle details of scale, shape, color, line and texture, vibrating between furniture, accessories, lighting, rugs, and wall coverings however that make a space feel cohesive.
“He was speechless”, Jones remembers the client‘s reaction to the space. He told us that he couldn’t believe we nailed it “Jones gives him credit for the space’s success. It’s refreshing when a client has the confidence to welcome what we do”, says since Jones, “it pushes us to take bigger risks and get the results they want.”

San Francisco Chronicle — Orinda Ranch House Gets a ‘Mad Med’ Update (2018) and Niche Interiors embraces eco-conscious, custom design (2019).
Elle Decor — Tour a Mid-century modern Home in California with it’s Own Perfumery. (2018)
In the Elle Decor ‘Mad Men’ feature, Niche Interiors full-scale renovation of a mid-century Bay Area home is featured.
For the renovation, the client wanted a designer that wouldn’t pile up some throw pillows and call it a look. He had bookmarked Jennifer Jones’ page at Niche Interiors two years prior to buying the house, and tapped her to design a mid-century modern home that evoked Mad Men “without looking like a TV set.”
Of the same mind, Jones left the past in the past — “I don’t want mid-century in a time capsule” — and modernized the aesthetic with saturated colors and new pieces in traditional mid-century shapes, such as a pair of swivel chairs by Kimberly Denman. The walls are painted ‘White Dove’ by Benjamin Moore, and the dark, graphic rugs by Stark add contrast that Jones says won’t ever feel dated.

Gentry Magazine — Coastal Calm (2020) highlights the major renovation of a mid-century modern California beach house by Niche Interiors.
California native Jennifer Jones imbues her work with a distinctly West Coast vibe and clear contemporary vision. “Inevitably I add a few global influences, too,” says Jones, who studied art history in Rome and has spent decades traveling voraciously. “Ultimately, though,” she points out, “California’s natural beauty and light are key to me when creating a new design.” Both elements are treated with Jones’ expert eye in the residence seen here.
“When our longtime client purchased this 1950s beach house, it was outfitted with dark wood paneling and heavy stained-glass windows,” she says. The home’s best feature—the stunning ocean views—were treated as an after-thought. Jones set to work opening spaces and letting the sunlight in. “Having worked with this client before, we understood his aesthetic and crafted a textural but neutral palette throughout.”

California Home + Design — Diamond Life (2021) – Niche Interiors injects glam into the après-ski vernacular of a Montana mountain home at the exclusive Yellowstone Club.
Jennifer Jones of San Francisco-based Niche Interiors had been behind a very stylish design of a Pacific Heights residence whose owners trusted she could work the same magic on the three-story 7,000 square foot home in Montana’s exclusive Yellowstone Club that they’d just purchased. “They didn’t want to do anything cliché” recalls Jones. “So it was about referencing the outdoors while making it feel sophisticated.” The end result is “a reflection of the client’s playful, cosmopolitan personality,” says Jones. “When a client’s taste shines through, that, for me, is a measure of a successful project.”

Modern Luxury Silicon Valley — Sonoma Sanctuary (2022) features a contemporary vacation home designed for a young family and Outside the Box (2018) features a Woodside home renovation designed with Andrew Mann Architecture.
“I’m a firm believer that our role as interior designers is to discover and express each client’s individual style rather than imposing ours onto them. It’s easy to design a pretty room, but much more difficult to design a room that functions well, has good flow, and is durable for everyday living.”
