San Francisco Interior Designer Review Niche Interiors is a beacon of creativity, style, and reliability in the swell of Bay Area housing. We worked with Niche to outfit our new condo including bedrooms, living & dining rooms, and rooftop deck.

From the first on-site visit to the image books, the depth and attention to detail in the early stages of the design process was impressive and set the project up for success. Niche determined our personal style and created a relevant profile for each space. The team recommended pieces at a range of price points, offering creative solutions, facilitating custom work where needed, and providing essential recommendations on built-in pieces to maintain a consistent vision. Niche excelled at coordinating across contractors, vendors, logistics, service providers, and the HOA throughout – the team is always responsive and we felt like every decision made had our best interests in mind. Our favorite thing about working with Niche was their focus on the practical details – precisely laying out pieces beforehand to ensure we would be comfortable. The team is efficient and keeps meticulous records for the budget and tracking of items. The process and end result exceeded all expectations. Niche transformed an empty condo into our home.

San Francisco Interior Designer Review We loved Niche Interiors! First of all, the finished project is beautiful and exactly what I hoped. The people of Niche were such great listeners, from hearing and understanding how we wanted to handle the process to the style we wanted. For the former, they quickly understood that, although we had a very specific style in mind, we wanted to be bothered with the process as little as possible. They provided just the right amount of support to make that happen. For instance, for a specific item, they would give a tightly yet thoughtfully curated selection of choices. If we were indecisive, they would quickly, but with a good explanation, cull down the options.

That was another thing I appreciated about Niche–that they were sensitive to cost, but also weren’t afraid to show us something that would be a big splurge. They also knew how to allocate the costs effectively–for instance, areas that would suffer more wear and tear got the less expensive (but still quite stylish and good quality) items, while the more public areas got the more expensive ones. I really liked the process we went through to figure out our style. First I sent them a bunch of photos on Houzz that I liked. They then sent me what they thought was our style, complete with photos of their own. This made it clear where we needed to steer them in a different direction. On the same note, Niche was so welcoming of feedback, even negative feedback. I really felt like, although they want to create something beautiful, they were not so emotionally tied to their creation that they couldn’t change parts of it to please us, their clients.

Finally, they really held our hands during the entire process. There were two separate instances where we ran into big problems with vendors, and in both instances they either were very willing to or, of their own volition, took over the interactions with the vendor and made everything run smoothly. I’ve been fielding so many compliments for work which has nothing to do with me, but everything to do with Niche. Most importantly, we love our home and how it looks!

San Francisco Interior Designer Review We bought a new home that needed a ton of work and we wanted to go in an entirely new design direction. Niche Interiors simplified the process immensely. They helped us establish our new style and provided enough design selections that we didn’t feel overwhelmed, but definitely had enough choices to make selections within our budget. We managed to integrate some of our existing furniture and incorporate a lot of new pieces so that I feel like we have a perfect blend of both while achieving the contemporary new look I was hoping for. The end result is a beautiful new home that reflects my family’s tastes and looks awesome.

San Francisco Interior Designer Review Jennifer and her team were a dream to work with. My husband had past experiences with other interior designers, but this was my first time and I feel so lucky that it was with Niche Interiors. They were professional, warm and fun to work with. They made it easy and exciting! There are a number of things that stand out in my mind but I will share two of what I consider most important: 1. My husband and I have different styles and just picking out a piece of art or object to display can take some time until we agree. They were able to blend our two aesthetics beautifully and painlessly. 2. They are so organized in their entire approach. There are detailed budgets, pictures, binders, etc. I never felt like I didn’t know what was going on at anytime. I would highly recommend (and have!) Niche Interiors- they have great style and are so much fun to work with!

San Francisco Interior Designer Review Jen and her team at Niche Interiors listened to our ideas, understood our style, and helped us transform our empty home in Pacific Heights into a beautiful and relaxing space. We would highly recommend Niche Interiors for any project (and already have to several friends)!

San Francisco Interior Designer Review After disappointing experiences with two other interior design firms, I learned that Niche was available to help us decorate our house. They were extremely responsive, respectful, and well-organized. They really listened to what I wanted and this made for a very smooth and efficient process. They gave me excellent options for each of the pieces I needed and gave good guidance when I was having trouble making up my mind. They were also very mindful of our budget, giving us good advice on where to splurge and where to save. Also, I was quite specific about our needs as a growing family, and Jen and her team had a great sense for how to make the house kid-friendly but still beautiful and interesting. I also really appreciated that they weren’t afraid to give me candid suggestions. For example, I initially would have stuck to all neutrals, but they helped give me new perspective on adding a bit of color here and there, and I now see how right they were about it!

I couldn’t be happier with the end result. I feel like our house truly reflects our personal style without sacrificing any functionality. They are extremely professional and are a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Niche for any project, large or small!

Luxury San Francisco Interior Design Review Jen and Lynn at Niche did an amazing job for us. We built a new home and engaged Niche Interiors as we were finishing plans with our architect. Jen worked closely with us to help develop layouts, choose furniture, materials, rugs, lamps, window coverings, etc. They made a super-complicated process incredibly simple, whether we were ordering a new couch from Italy or refurbishing an older lamp we already owned, converting chairs to eliminate the flame retarding chemicals. Jen also helped design a custom table, advised on the selection of the perfect wood, received all of our furniture, managed returns and repairs for furniture that came in damaged from shipment, and set things up beautifully, while we were out of town. Truly amazing. I cannot recommend her and Niche more highly!

Burlingame Interior Designer We moved into a new house, and wanted to make it feel like home. Niche Interiors worked with us for 10 months to make it happen, and we could not be happier. Specifically, they suggested the color scheme for the entire interior, window treatments, designed the floor plans for the living room, family room, 3 bedrooms, office, entryway, and media room. They also worked with us to implement the floor plans, with an elegant mix of custom-made and retail pieces. I really appreciated their intuition, understanding of our tastes, vast professional knowledge, and efficiency of their work process.

Client review of San Francisco interior designerWe had a fantastic experience working with Niche and I would wholeheartedly recommend them. They were clear and straightforward in describing the design process and estimated cost. We expressed our (very vague) design preferences as well as focus on non-toxic finishes, and they translated that into a cohesive and beautiful vision for the house as well as clear options for every single piece of furniture.

Niche also helped track deliveries and managed our two installations seamlessly – we couldn’t be happier with the process or the outcome and the costs were completely in line with initial expectations. At every stage they took care of any hiccups in stride and minimized any disruption to us or our house, and we are thrilled now to be living in a space that is functional, beautiful, and true to our aesthetic and preferences about furniture materials and finishes. We hope we’ll get the chance to work with them again!

We have been working with Jennifer for over a year as we completed a total house makeover/remodel. She is amazing! With fresh and innovative ideas, Jennifer was able to capture our vision (or have a vision where we didn’t) and execute the design flawlessly.

She always had plenty of suggestions and options which allowed us to be an active part of the process and was always respectful of our budget. Her thoughtfulness insured that the project remained relevant and functional for our lifestyle (with a toddler) while holding to her beautiful aesthetic. She has been such fun to work with and a professional from start to finish. In the end, Niche Interiors delivered an outcome above and beyond our expectation and I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Jen helped us decorate our entire house. Our project was 3 bedrooms, a living room/dining room and eat-in kitchen. She helped us pick out over forty pieces and it all came together beautifully. She was always timely and always stayed within budget. She overcame my challenges of buying things that looked nice, but were durable and child friendly, since we have three young kids and a dog. I would highly recommend her work and will definitely work with her in the future.

We hired Niche Interiors to design three rooms for us from scratch, in addition to paint selections for the rest of our flat, and floor plans for the bedrooms. Jennifer delivered exactly what we wanted, even though we had little idea of what we wanted at the beginning.  Multiple conversations and viewing different design styles ensured we were all moving in the right direction each step of the way. We went in thinking we knew our design taste and realized our tastes are much broader than we originally thought.  The design we agreed upon fit our taste and the style of the space perfectly.

Jennifer knew we were budget conscious (who isn’t these days), but that didn’t throw her.  She picked out at least three options at different prices for every piece.  It allowed us to put our money towards the items that were important to us and save money on things that weren’t, while still creating a cohesive design. The couple of times we had a miscommunication or a problem it was quickly addressed, taken seriously, and solved to our satisfaction. We have already recommended her services to multiple friends and look forward to working with her again!  We have two bedrooms and a bathroom remodel with her name on it!

Client review of San Francisco interior designer

After having two boys and spending a few years decorating nurseries and toddler rooms, it was time to finally have the master bedroom we always wanted. We live in the East Bay and were having a difficult time finding a designer that we connected with. We came across Niche Interior’s website and after reviewing every room displayed, we knew we found the designer we would love to work with!

From the first meeting at our home, Jennifer and her assistant, Lynn, have been wonderful to work with. They took the time to truly understand our style, provided us design options to choose from, and multiple selections for each key piece. They consulted us on our final selections to ensure everything would come together perfectly.

After the key pieces arrived it was time to accessorize. Every option Jennifer and Lynn provided we loved. Jennifer also made herself available to review anything we found on our own to ensure that what we purchased would go perfectly with the room. The room has come together so beautifully and is everything we hoped for. Our next project for Niche Interiors is our family room. Thank you, Jennifer and Lynn, for making us feel like we were your only client and giving us a master bedroom we dreamed of!

Bobby reviewAmazing. Incredible. Outstanding. Fantastic. Awesome. Marvelous. These are the adjectives to describe how pleased I am with the results that were delivered. I was lucky enough to stumble across Niche Interiors while searching the web in a last ditch effort to find the right fit. It was a long drawn out process, interviewing various firms and individuals but fortunately enough, the light at the end of the tunnel was found and it was burning bright.

After browsing their website, reading the blog and viewing photos of past projects, I was impressed and about 50% sold that I had found the right designer. The last 50% was achieved during the first meeting. What I ultimately was looking for and found in Jennifer can be described in a few simple words; professional, reliable and talented.

Throughout the entire process, from concept to procurement, it went flawlessly. All deliverables were met, timeline adhered to, budget maintained and most importantly, the understanding of what I was attempting to achieve in terms of the units style, was made an absolute priority. Coming from the construction industry, one of my companies internal goals is to make the experience, the journey of a project, one that our clients enjoy. Niche Interiors too, lives up this goal and transcends it as I cannot stress enough how happy I am and continue to be every night I come home and step foot into my place.

san francisco interior design reviews

If I could give 10 stars to Niche Interiors I would.  They are hands down the BEST San Francisco interior design team! This morning while writing this review,  I am sitting in my new condo, drinking a cup of coffee (in my new comfy custom upholstery chair) and looking around at my newly designed space.  It is just amazing.  And the people responsible for this amazingly peaceful, contemporary and thoughtful design is the team at Niche Interiors.

I found Jennifer on the internet and made the initial call.  She promptly called me back and explained the process involved in working with her team. Yes, a process!  I didn’t know interior design teams followed a process and her process is efficient to say the least. We were on a tight schedule moving into our new space and needed the design to happen fast. Additionally, my partner and I were trying to combine our two different styles.  We were worried the creativity and design would be lost while trying to make our deadlines.  We were completely wrong!  Jennifer helped us from to start to finish–individually asking us questions about our styles and interests, selecting paint colors, choosing furniture and creating a floor plan.  We LOVED the options she presented! Jennifer has impeccable taste and it shines through on her projects. I would HIGHLY recommend Niche Interiors if you want someone who has a wonderful design eye, is professional, efficient, cost-effective and awesome to work with.  And to top it off–she stays in budget!!!

interior design reviews san franciscoJennifer is fantastic to work with. She is organized, professional, and flexible. We worked with another designer prior to hiring Jennifer and found the process to be so much more difficult and stressful. Jennifer was always completely responsive and really listened to our thoughts and concerns. She has a great eye too and we were very happy with how the project turned out. We would not hesitate to hire her in the future for bigger projects.

This was my first experience working with an interior decorator and I was nervous that I was going to end up with a room that was more their style and not mine. That was not the case with Jennifer! Jennifer really listened to what I had in mind and how I intended to use the space. She also had me look through pictures and identify what I liked/disliked in each one. I think this really helped me also get a sense of the feel of the room that I was looking for. I also loved that for each piece that was recommended, Jennifer provided three pricing options. This allowed me to really mix and match from big box stores and unique items. It also helped me stay within a budget I was comfortable with.

Throughout the process, Jennifer was always in communication and let me know where we were with each item. This was a wonderful experience and I am so happy with both the living room and media room.

My husband and I had recently bought our first home and knew we needed somebody with an experienced eye in interior design to help us. We found Niche Interiors’ website and, based on the aesthetic and diversity of style in we saw in the photos of Jennifer’s projects, we knew we had found the right person.

Jennifer worked with us to hone in on our aesthetic and, while she did the work of choosing the combinations of colors, patterns, etc. that worked together for our spaces, she provided us with options that made us feel very much like we were part of the process. Jennifer had an incredible ability to understand and articulate our personal style and was able to meet us within our comfort zone but also knew where to help us take some fun design risks with our space. She has a very keen understanding of how to combine design, comfort, style and functionality and, in addition, she has seemingly wonderful relationships with the vendors who she works with so her clients can be assured great quality and timeliness. We are thrilled with what Jennifer has done for us and finally feel like we live in a designed space that feels like “us”.

I miraculously found Jennifer through a random Google search on “decorating a small one bedroom apartment” which led me to her piece in Apartment Therapy.

Since our first meeting we clicked; from the moment she walked into my tiny apartment she saw possibilities…a closet is transformed into additional living space and an old Tulip chair was transformed with a little paint and a custom seat cushion. My space actually feels more spacious now — even though it has a lot more furniture and a large vintage mirror.

She is a true artist and visionary; her use of textures and colors is unique. I am not a fan of the mundane average matchy match look and Jennifer picked up on that. She has a keen sense of what her client likes and was sensitive to my hobbies, personality.

I also enjoyed all of the contractors she recommended and worked with. It’s very strange but I’m going to miss her now that our project is near its end. I could go on. I highly recommend Jennifer and Niche Interiors. She is very ethical, reliable and honest.

Jennifer provided bathroom layout, design and finish plans for a very small Victorian bathroom remodel. She selected materials and fixtures including tile, plumbing fixtures, and paint colors. Jennifer was willing to provide exactly what we wanted in terms of designs, materials etc. She met with us to determine our tastes and how we expected to use the space. She always showed up on time and was very responsive to our questions and requests. Final hours were right in line with initial estimate. Highly recommended.

We are so grateful to have found Jennifer Jones and Niche Interiors. Jennifer has been such a pleasure to work with. We have a small house with a challenging floor plan and we did not get the “gene” for home decorating. We are senior citizens who were living with a lot of clutter and rooms that didn’t work well for us.

Jennifer has designed beautiful rooms in keeping with our taste, values and budget. She is so professional, works efficiently, shows up on time. She gave us an image book to learn about our tastes, gave us nice options (for each item we needed) in three price ranges, and came in under budget. Jennifer also designed a beautiful built-in cabinet/ window seating area and found a skilled craftsman to build it. The built-in fits well with the original architectural details of the house, and looks as if it is original.

Jennifer was very sensitive to my husband’s needs as a disabled person; she was always considerate of feelings. I was afraid to work with a designer for fear of being looked down upon, but Jennifer is totally down to earth and never made us feel “taste challenged”.

My husband and I recently moved to San Francisco from Cleveland. We had to downsize from a house to a condo in the city. I needed help. We moved into a new condo and we had a blank slate. I am at that age where I wanted HELP and do it RIGHT.

I met Jen and we exchanged information. I decided to interview her (and 2 others). I was SO impressed with Jen. She is extremely professional, organized, showed up to our first consultation on time and with her business information. She has a great website so I was able to look at some of her work online. Jen was not offended at all when I asked for references. Jen is very easy to get along with and is open to many different ideas.

After 5 months, my husband and I are so happy with our home. We aren’t done yet and we will be calling Jen again soon to finish up the rest of the rooms. She has a great list of contractors she works with; she has a great sense of paint color; she is willing to listen to us and liked a few of our items we decided to go with. She doesn’t get offended if we ask her to ‘keep looking’. I can’t say enough.

WE LOVE JENNIFER! This is our first time working with a designer and she never makes us feel incompetent or intimidated. She’s listened to us from day one on what we like/don’t like, our budget, etc. She comes up with 3-4 choices in various price ranges for each item, and she always includes one that’s exactly what we’d have chosen ourselves and one that makes us think. She’s opened our eyes to the world of color and texture, and we now sit in our living room every night because we love it so much — it’s very us but way better. She’s also good with scale and figuring out how big/tall/small something should be in relation to the room. She doesn’t mind when we ask her for more choices or find something that’s different from what she recommended, and encourages us to get out and look at things to see what we like.

I recommended her to two of my friends who have different taste than we do and she did a great job for them as well. Seriously can’t say enough positive things about our experience with her!
