What self-respecting interior designer doesn’t love install day?! It’s your first opportunity to see the hundreds (YES, hundreds!) of tiny decisions that go into designing a home come together. Last week our install in Pacific Heights started off well with sunny skies and a truck full of furniture.
Lynn and I arrived before the movers to unpack and organize light fixtures and smaller furniture items that had already arrived.
With the help of three movers, we placed rugs and furniture according to our floor plans and adjusted everything until it felt just right. (I still can’t believe the before and after photos below were taken just hours apart!). The muted grey and ivory color palette with a burst of orange looks even better in person than it did in my head.
The neutral palette continues in the master bedroom with taupey-grey grasscloth, a silky rug, and a custom chrome bench at the foot of the bed.
Our clients walked in the door at the end of the day in a mild state of excited shock. The best compliment she could have paid us: “It feels just like us, but even better.”
